Patriot Hall Studios is housed in a large building that was a former bakery. The studios vary in sizes and for the most part are light filled with high ceilings. Communal spaces exist to encourage artists to gather, interact and support each other.

Gerald McGowan in his studio, Edinburgh, Scotland. Gerald's studio is crammed full of supplies, work and inspirations. He had to move things out of the way so he could open the door and let me in. At the time he was working on a series of paintings involving people in motion in public spaces. His work captured their movement beautifully.

Trude Blows in her studio, Edinburgh, Scotland. I found her watercolors done in black and white extremely thought provoking and mysterious.

Alan Kilpatrick in his duplex studio, Edinburgh, Scotland. Alan's studio was impressive. Large, roomy and very well organized. All of his furniture was on wheels for easy movement around the studio. In addition to large canvasses, Alan creates performance art.
